UFC 109 Predictions And Breakdown

Overall in my opinion, this event is much better than many people are saying. I think this fight card should be entertaining and interesting to watch. Of course it’s not the best event, but I think there are some potentially good fights that you won’t want to miss.
Here are my predictions for these fights:
MAIN CARD:
Mark Coleman vs. Randy Couture
I think this fight may be a classic grappling/wrestling match, or this
could to fight where they want to stand and bang as well. In the end I
think Couture comes away with a win via unanimous decision.
Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen
Some people say this fight is not getting the hype it deserves. I would
have to agree, because most of the talk for this fight card is surrounding
Couture vs. Coleman. However Both fighters want to win this fight to gain
a shot at the middleweight championship.
Just take a look at their records:
Marquardt’s record stands at: 29-8-2 with 7 Tko’s, 15 Subs, and 7 Decision
wins.
Sonnen’s record stands at: 23-10-1 with 7 Tko’s, 3 Subs, and 13 Decision wins.
Sonnen is a decent mma veteran to be an opponent for Marquardt. However
Marquardt’s last opponent was Demian Maia, Demain Maia beat Sonnen and
then Marquardt knocked out Maia in 21 seconds.
I think that Marquardt will end this fight with his hand raised
for the win because he finishes fights, whereas over half of Sonnen’s wins
are via decision. Marquardt is looking better each fight, and he is motivated
to get another fight with Anderson Silva. So Marquardt’s determination I
think will prevail. I think Marquardt wins this fight by TKO in round 2.
Mike Swick vs. Paulo Thiago
In this fight I think Mike Swick is going to come out strong, Swick was
unhappy with his performance against Dan Hardy. So I think he comes out
strong looking for the finish. So I think Swick wins this fight by TKO in
round 3.
Demian Maia vs. Dan Miller
Maia beat Chael Sonnen and then lost to Nate Marquardt, Miller’s last fight
was a loss to Sonnen. So both fighters want to come out and do well. I think
Maia gets this win via submission.
Matt Serra vs. Frank Trigg
Both fighters are looking to prove themselves and this could be Trigg’s last
shot in the UFC if he loses. However I think Serra wins via Unanimous Decision.
PRELIMINARY CARD (Spike TV):
Justin Buchholz vs. Mac Danzig
Both fighters need to rebound from losses, so this is kind of a toss up of
who wants it more. Based off of experience and record I will say that Danzig
wins this fight by Unanimous Decision.
Melvin Guillard vs. Ronnys Torres
Guillard wasn’t very happy about his loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 19, so he wants
this win. I think Guillard will win this fight by tko in round 1.
PRELIMINARY CARD (Un-aired):
Rob Emerson vs. Phillipe Nover
Both fighters are looking for a win after some losses. I think this fight
ends with Rob Emerson getting a Unanimous Decision Victory.
Phil Davis vs. Brian Stann
This is Davis’ first fight in the UFC, and he’s going up against a hard
hitting Brian Stann. I think Stann wins this fight with a 2nd round tko.
Tim Hague vs. Chris Tuchscherer
This I thought was an interesting matchup, both fighters have some punch
power. However coming off of a loss by knockout I could see Hague wanting to
take this fight to the ground. I pick Tuchscherer to win this fight by tko
in round 2.
Joey Beltran vs. Rolles Gracie
After beating thehard hitting Houston Alexander last month, Beltran is now
getting a shot in the UFC. Beltran is a heavy hitter and Gracie is great
with submissions. I think Gracie will win this fight by submission.

A lot of people are not very happy with Couture and Coleman headlining UFC 109.Fight fans have become spoiled bitches and want every UFC to be a super fight. Every time they start talking about how boring a fight card is, it turns out to be amazing night of fights.
I am very excited about this fight card. The Nate Marquardt vs. Chael Sonnen is going to be sick and so is Mike Swick vs. Paulo Thiago. Couture and coleman are not going to be doing crazy spinning back kick and a flying knees but they will put on a great fight.Randy and big Nog had one of the top 20 best fights of all times and everyone cryed it was going to be lame.
